Tom Hounsell's second game in interim charge of the Chairboys came just three days after his first, with the 31-year-old looking to build a head of steam with back-to-back wins for the first time in competitive action this season.

Whilst the EFL Trophy is most likely bottom of the priority list for the club, building some momentum after Saturday's win at Leyton Orient by following it up with another victory was the target for Hounsell and his men, regardless of the competition.

As the old saying goes, the feeling of winning is contagious, and Wycombe missed that feeling in the latter stages of Michael Duff's reign, as they managed just three wins in their final 18 games under the former Blues boss before his sacking.
