Sometimes, people are made for a specific job. We see this so often: someone tries something new and ends up going back to where they started for a multitude of reasons.
This often rings true in professional football too, with plenty of managers and players returning to their former employers after a stint away, particularly if their previous tenure at the club was a success.
A familiar environment is always a good place to get your career back on track, and there have been so many examples of this at Wycombe Wanderers over the years.
Some fans will say we’re too obsessed with our past; we need to move forward, but has moving forward from what brought us so much joy and success in the past put the club in a better place so far? It’s hard to say it has.
