Wycombe's 2026/27 League One began on Saturday afternoon, with a trip to Bloomfield Road being the curtain raiser for the Chairboys' campaign.

Unusually, it wasn't actually the first game of Wycombe's season, with the Carabao Cup fixture against Stevenage last week played before any league action had started.

Wanderers had failed to get even a point from their last three opening league matches, with losses coming from Bradford away last season and Wrexham away the season before, and losing 3-0 to Exeter at home for the 2023/24 season, conceding twice in the first five minutes.
