Chairboys fans had little time to process the departure of Gareth Ainsworth and the appointment of club legend Bloomfield as his successor ahead of his first game in charge of the Chairboys at Shrewsbury.

The Rock'n 'Roll manager had become a legend in the dugout, bringing Wanderers from the foot of League Two all the way to the Championship over his decade in charge.

However, all good things must come to an end, and when the QPR job became available in February 2023, you could feel something was a little different this time around.

Ainsworth had previously turned down higher offers to remain at Wycombe, but when the R's came calling to bring him back to Loftus Road, his resolve was finally broken.
