Three weeks ago, we sat down to digest a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Exeter City in the FA Cup, which exposed a number of key facts about the current state of Wycombe Wanderers, and how much of a Herculean job Michael Duff has on his hands this January.
Somehow, it got worse. Boxing Day's 4-0 defeat at Kenilworth Road was completely self-inflicted, with all four of Luton Town's goals coming from individual errors, in what was clear evidence of Wycombe's regression in the last 12 months.
This time last year, Wanderers ran riot against Stevenage in a 3-0 away win, and sat comfortably inside the automatic promotion places. Now, the Chairboys are just four points above the relegation zone, despite sitting tenth in the table.
