Wycombe's second bid for Barnsley's captain, Luca Connell, which was in excess of £1 million has been rejected, according to Bucks Free Press, with talks between the two clubs stalled for the time being.
This follows Wycombe's first bid, which was also rejected, earlier this month.
Both parties believe they can still agree on a deal for the midfielder, with Barnsley looking to offload players. Meanwhile, Wycombe are looking to bring in a defensive midfielder in the absense of Josh Scowen, who suffered from an ACL injury in Wycombe's away loss to Leyton Orient, and will be out for most of, if not all, of the upcoming season.
