The first few days of the transfer window have been eventful for Wycombe Wanderers. The news of Sam Bell's departure on New Year's Day came as a real disappointment ahead of the match against league leaders Cardiff City.

It wasn't widely expected that the 23-year-old would be recalled right away, but Bristol City were clearly keen to get him back after his successful spell at Adams Park, so Gerhard Struber can assess him before making a decision on his future.

Bell made an instant impact, coming off the bench in a 5-0 victory over Portsmouth and setting up his side's fourth goal of the afternoon. The winger is out of contract at Ashton Gate in the summer, and will be looking to impress his boss in the hopes of winning an extension.
