TheQuartermen understands that Wycombe haven't submitted a new bid for Barnsley's Luca Connell today.

Wycombe Wanderers fans had their hopes of landing Barnsley skipper Connell's hopes raised earlier today when The Bucks Free Press reported that the Chairboys had a £1.3m bid accepted by the Tykes.

However, a new report from Andy Giddings of BBC Football Heaven has suggested that the Buckinghamshire side hasn't made a new bid for the 24-year-old, which subsequently can't be rejected.

The Quartermen now also understands that the latest update is true, and the Chairboys have yet to make an improved bid for Connell after their second approach was turned down.
