Nathan Lowe Wycombe Wanderers update emerges as Stoke City greenlight decision

The Chairboys made their first attacking signing of the summer on Friday evening when they announced that last season's top scorer in all competitions, Cauley Woodrow, had returned to the club on a permanent deal from Luton Town.

The 31-year-old became the fourth addition of the transfer window, following Conor Hazard, Matt Macey and Steve Cook through the door at Adams Park.

However, Michael Duff appears to still be in the market for another striker ahead of the new campaign, with Alan Nixon reporting that Wanderers are among several League One clubs interested in Stoke forward Lowe.

Lowe, 20, spent the second half of last season on loan with Wycombe, where he scored four goals in 12 outings and became a popular figure among the Chairboys faithful.

Initial reports earlier in the summer suggested that Stoke would be prepared to let the striker leave permanently, but Nixon's latest update has revealed that another third-tier loan deal is the most likely outcome.

Previous interest from clubs in both England and Scotland had already been reported, while Nixon's update claims a number of League One sides are now in the running.

Although Wycombe were the only club named in the latest report, the Chairboys are expected to face competition if they are to secure Lowe's return to Adams Park.
