The 2013/14 season is one that will always stay with Wycombe Wanderers fans. A year of drama, nerves, and moments that tested the heart. The club came terrifyingly close to dropping out of the Football League.
It was Gareth Ainsworth’s first full season in charge, and from day one, it was clear things were changing. The squad saw a big shake-up. Experienced centre-back Dave Winfield moved on, along with Joel Grant, who had been one of the standout players the year before. Charles Dunne earned a move to Blackpool but came back on loan for the season, which gave the team a small boost. Kourtney Hause also left, heading to Aston Villa.
