Ahead of our first round match against Plymouth Argyle, I want to share a story that’s very familiar to Wycombe Wanderers fans. A story that captured the hearts of a town and created the next generation of supporters.
The first three rounds of the FA Cup started like many we’ve seen in modern times. An opening win against local non-league opposition in Harrow Borough and then a slightly surprising upset at Millwall in a replay, Wycombe Wanderers were hoping for a big third round draw.
Instead, we were handed an uninspiring tie against Grimsby Town. Two quick goals in the 31st and 32nd minutes were enough to see the Chairboys into the 4th round with a 3-1 win.
