The Quartermen help raise £2000 for the Wycombe Wanderers Disabled Supporters Association

Organised by Liam O'Rourke, the communication officer for the DSA, the wider Wycombe community came together to play a match on the hallowed turf at HP12 4HJ to help raise funds towards the DSA's initiatives.

These include supplying blind and visually impaired supporters with radio headsets for both home and away fans at Adams Park and sensory packs for supporters with sensory needs, which include a lanyard, fidget and sensory toys, ear defenders and a guide to the ground.

The afternoon proved to be an unforgettable experience for all 43 players involved, with Wilkins Wanderers running out 5-1 winners on a scorching day under the High Wycombe sun.

BBC Three Counties and Wanderers TV co-commentator Brian Jeeves opened the scoring just before the 10-minute mark, dinking home a loose ball after Liam's Legends keeper, Andrew Chandler, blocked Dan Clark's initial effort.

Heroes of HP12 podcast host Clark was then on hand to double his side's advantage not long after, pouncing after a scramble in the box to lash home from 18 yards out.

The Quartermen's analyst Dom Wingrove then almost made it three inside the first half with a venomous strike from 30 yards which smashed the far post and stayed out.

Liam's Legends were awarded a penalty on the stroke of half-time after Wanderers keeper Jensen Ellis was deemed to have fouled an attacker from a corner, but he made up for it with a brilliant save down to his left.

Wilkins' side added a third not long after play resumed in the second half. A delightful ball from Rex Poole was rifled home from close range by Ethan Carter, which saw his manager receive a red card for invading the pitch to celebrate with him.

Jamie Chick then made it four without response with a brilliantly curled effort which nestled in the top right corner.

O'Rourke's side would get on the scoresheet when a deflected free-kick fell kindly to Ryan Wilcox, who made no mistake with the finish.

TikTok star Ethan Theo wrapped up the game with the fifth for Wilkins Wanderers with 15 minutes to go when he latched onto Cameron Lissimore's inch-perfect pass and cooly slotted past Alex Vickery.

Ultimately, when all was said and done, the result was meaningless, as the total from Simon Prior's GoFundMe, donations received on the day totalled up to over £2000 raised for the DSA.

Once again, the power of the community has not only allowed many Wycombe fans to enjoy a truly unforgettable day playing on the Adams Park pitch but also raised a huge sum of money for a good cause.
