The evening of Thursday 15th May seems a distant memory now. 1600 Chairboys fans walked home from the Jimmy Seed Stand at Charlton’s ground trying to piece together how the season fell apart. Mike Dodds alluded to using this painful experience to fuel the appetite for the new season: “It is a harsh lesson in football, and for me, it is a quick lesson to learn for the responsibilities in this role. I told the players (at full time) that there was nothing I could say to change the mood. We will use this painful experience as fuel next season, and we will come back a much better version as we want to get out of this league.”
